The creativity and quality of Italian cuisine are inextricably linked to the wisdom of the countryside. So it is only natural that the excellence of Le Stagioni d’Italia products can be traced to Italy’s largest farming business, Bonifiche Ferraresi S.p.A.

A story spanning three centuries
 
 
19th Century
Founded in 1871, from its very beginnings Bonifiche Ferraresi has personified all the magnificence of the Italian agricultural landscape. Thanks to large-scale acquisitions and reclamation of swamplands, lakes and land around Ferrara and other locations in the Regno d’Italia, it immediately attained a top ranking position in national and European agricultural markets.
 
 
20th Century
Strengthened by this success, Bonifiche Ferraresi expanded its land ownership, amounting to more than 25 thousand hectares in 1929. In 1942, Banca d’Italia became the majority shareholder and in 1947 the company was listed on the stock market. Thus, Bonifiche Ferraresi S.p.A. came to life.
 
 
21st Century
In 2014, after a century and a half of history, a group of private investors (Bonifiche Ferraresi) decided to create Le Stagioni d’Italia. The goal was big and bold: bring to consumers’ tables a wide range of high quality and sustainable Italian food products achieved through innovative agriculture and responsible production methods, able to enhance the excellence of the Italian agro-food industry and to safeguard local territories and the natural resources of the country.
 
 
The Leopoldina
 
 

The logo of Le Stagioni d’Italia depicts a traditional “Leopoldina” farmhouse, named after the Gran Duke Pietro Leopoldo. He commissioned the building of these houses which then became a symbol of farm work as well as human needs and respect for animal welfare.

To this day, walking along the trails skirting the Canal Maestro, in the heart of the reclaimed Val di Chiana, you can still admire these majestic farmsteads. This sight evokes a sense of closeness to agriculture, farm work and farmers and represents natural, genuine, quality products.
